      Purpose of Position:

      Perform cleaning in non-clinical and clinical areas to maintain the facility in a disinfected condition as required. This position is key to enhancing patient care and employee health, accordingly all duties should be conducted in accordance with infection control policies and procedures for best practices.

      Uphold the organization’s vision, mission, and corporate values. Demonstrate understanding of and compliance with organization’s policies, procedures, code of conduct and work rules.

      Essential Functions:

      • Wash and clean surface areas assigned according to established specialized cleaning procedures using the proper products for waxing, stripping, shampooing, vacuuming, sweeping, damp wiping, etc.

      • Empty trash, sorting and disposing of contaminated and non-contaminated trash according to established procedures and Infection Control guidelines

      • Check all equipment prior to the start of each shift for any malfunctions, notifying supervisor if any and filling out a work request as required

      • Clean equipment after each shift according to manufacturers' and department specifications, ensuring equipment is ready to use by the oncoming shift personnel and replenishing daily supplies

      • Display a “wet floor” or other applicable safety warning signs whenever water, slippery material or obstruction is present on the floor

      • Perform other duties as assigned
